This deepwater semi-submersible rig can be used to mine offshore oil in areas such as Brazil, the Gulf of Mexico, western Africa or the temperate waters of Southeast Asia. The depth of the underwater operation is 200 to 2400 meters and the maximum drilling/well repair depth is 8,500 meters.

The project to be installed by AEG Power Solutions is located on a new drilling platform in the Santos Basin, Brazil, from which oil will be extracted from the salt geological formation. Although stored in the deep sea thick salt geological layer, the quality of the salt down oil is very good, and such drilling platforms are needed to achieve mining extraction.
