Chemical Group Fracturing Fluid Technology Advances to International Standards

On July 13, Shell Changbei Gas Field successfully completed the fracturing task in well CB15-3V. The fracturing fluid system used in the fracturing construction was designed and confirmed by the Chemical Industry Group Research Institute. The corresponding additives were produced by the Chemical Group's downhole auxiliary company and provided on-site liquid preparation technology services. The company's fracturing fluid technology has been recognized by major international oil companies.
The Changbei Gasfield Project is a project jointly developed by China National Petroleum Corporation and Shell, and is also the largest project of China's onshore oil cooperation and development. In March of this year, the staff of the Chemical Industry Group Research Institute determined the shell fracturing construction additives and formulas of the Changbei Project of the Shell Company after a hard, solid and effective work with strong technical strength. The group’s Changqing underground oilfield additives are limited liability. The company completed the production of fracturing fluid additives. Shell's technical personnel personally participated in the inspection of the performance of the fracturing fluid and expressed great satisfaction. It was determined to be used in the fracturing construction of Shell Changbei Operation Area.

Chlorinated Polyethylene(CPE)

1. CPE is a kind of saturated rubber, which has excellent heat-resistant oxygen aging, ozone aging, acid and alkali resistance, and chemical resistance.


2. CPE has general oil resistance. Among them, it has excellent resistance to ASTM No. 1 oil and ASTM No. 2 oil, which is equivalent to NBR; and it has excellent resistance to ASTM No. 3 oil, which is better than CR and is equivalent to CSM.


3. CPE contains chlorine element, has excellent flame retardant performance, and has the characteristics of burning and dripping. It can be combined with antimony flame retardant, chlorinated paraffin, and Al(OH)3 in an appropriate ratio to obtain a flame retardant material with excellent flame retardancy and low cost.


4. CPE is non-toxic, does not contain heavy metals and PAHs, and it fully meets environmental protection requirements.


5. CPE has high filling performance and can be manufactured to meet various performance requirements. The processing performance of CPE is good, and the Mooney viscosity is available in a variety of grades between 50-100.
