Diesel "burning" methanol is not far off
At present, domestic cars have begun to use methanol gasoline. China, as a major diesel oil country, can use diesel fuel in the era of diversified automotive energy. With the forthcoming promulgation of the dual-fuel standard and the introduction of dual-fuel trucks, the industrialization of diesel/methanol fuels is not far off. The reporter learned from the seminar on energy-saving and new-energy vehicle development organized by the Shanghai municipal government on June 17th that the world's only DMCC model project has made significant progress. At present, the "Diesel/Methanol Combine Fuel Standard" has been submitted to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for approval and will be promulgated in the near future. It is understood that Tianjin University has cooperated with heavy-duty automakers such as Dongfeng Automobile, China National Heavy Duty Truck, Shaanxi Automobile and Weichai Power to carry out dual fuel technology research. The diesel/methanol fuel combination project was developed by Tianjin University’s State Key Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engine Combustion. After more than a decade of basic research, the project has entered the road test phase for various models, various types of internal combustion engines and environmental conditions in the past three years. Through continuous improvement, it has been proved that the DMCC model can fully achieve the same compression ratio, high combustion efficiency, strong power, no black smoke emissions, and significantly reduced fuel costs. The industry believes that the successful development and promotion of the DMCC will play a positive role in the partial replacement of diesel fuel with methanol fuel. At the same time, it also has important practical significance for improving the shortage of oil resources in our country, the shortage of diesel fuel, and the diversification of fuel for vehicles. In 2010, the consumption of diesel fuel in China was 159 million tons, which accounted for 67% of the total fuel consumption. The supply of diesel was very tight in various places. George A. Ola, a Nobel Prize winner in chemistry and a well-known organic chemist, proposed in his book “Over the Oil and Gas Era: Methanol Economy†that the methanol economy can be used as a solution to the energy problem after the oil and gas era. With regard to how to develop diesel substitutes, Professor Yao Chunde of Tianjin University believes that biodiesel in China can only be a "fairly rare thing" and it is impossible to replace diesel with huge demand. China's national conditions are "more coal, less gas, and less oil," and only coal-to-methanol instead of diesel is the most appropriate route. Methanol and diesel are incompatible, unlike gasoline, which can achieve a high proportion of methanol and gasoline blending under the action of additives. According to scientific experiments, Tianjin University has come up with a path with Chinese characteristics. The DMCC's train of thought is: let methanol through the diesel engine intake pipe into the cylinder, the formation of air methanol mixture, and then use diesel ignition ignition, the formation of "starting diesel, running with methanol and diesel fuel," the dual fuel combination combustion mode. In 2008, Tianda cooperated with the Huayi Group Coking Company and installed a dual-fuel device on the company's transport vehicle. The vehicle has already operated 50,000 kilometers and achieved good results. In the following two years, the project team expanded road tests and successively selected 40 tons of coal carriers, 20 tons of containers, 20 tons of tank trucks, and buses and buses in provinces such as Shanxi, Jiangxi, Hebei, Shandong, and Shaanxi. More than ten stations were tested. A diesel vehicle tested in Inner Mongolia Road in January this year used a temperature of minus 30 degrees Celsius. The road test showed that the replacement rate of methanol to diesel was 30% on average, and the overall thermal efficiency was increased by 14.35%. At the same time, emissions of soot and nitrogen oxides were significantly reduced. Prof. Yao Chunde told reporters with full confidence that the use of methanol in the combustion of diesel vehicles is technically feasible. Methanol has no problem in replacing 20% to 30% of diesel fuel. The economic benefits are very significant. He calculated a bill: In order to add 30% methanol, the price of methanol is now 1/3 of that of diesel. A diesel vehicle runs 100,000 kilometers a year, with a fuel consumption of 35 liters per kilometer, saving about 3 per year. Ten thousand yuan. “This is a good thing that will benefit three users, and will bring benefits to users. It will open up new areas for fuel methanol for methanol production companies. For the country, it will ease the pressure on diesel supply.†It is reported that the DMCC of Tianjin University has been included in the project library of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and it also incorporates the marine dual fuel project of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in replacing methanol with diesel and natural gas instead of diesel. Relevant parties have also proposed a development plan: that is, by the year 2015, a demonstration fleet of 10,000 vehicles will be formed in the country. The annual consumption of methanol will be 360,000 tons and the replacement of diesel will be 200,000 tons. By 2020, the "four ones" will be replaced. Ten million tons of petroleum fuels will open up a new industry, create a new fuel system, and open up an international market that belongs to China's internal combustion engine industry to provide products and post-market services. Experts firmly believe that with the support of the national level, methanol-diesel vehicles will be promoted in an orderly manner and become a globally-focused emerging industry. 8 mm Thickness PVC Wall Panels 8 Mm Thickness Pvc Wall Panels,Wall Panel For Decoration,8 Mm Wall Board Panels,Wainscoting Ceiling Board Puyang Shangyi Decoration Material Co., Ltd. , https://www.shangyiwallpanel.com
