India's JK Tire plans to invest additional 230 million U.S. dollars to expand its Chennai plant

According to reports, India’s JK Tire plans to invest an additional Rp 14.3 billion (US$ 230 million) in its Sriperumbudur plant in Chennai to increase its tire production capacity.

Raghupati Singhania, chairman and general manager of JK Tire, announced that “We will invest RMB 14.3 billion in the Chennai plant. This project will be implemented in the next 15 months.” After the expansion, the factory's card, passenger car radial tires The production capacity will increase by 400,000 pieces/year, and the production capacity of passenger car radial tires will increase by 1.5 million pieces/year.

JK Tire has invested approximately Rs 100 crore (approximately US$160 million) in the Sriperumbudur factory before, increasing the production capacity of the plant's card, passenger car and passenger car radial tires by 400,000 pieces each. Years and 3 million articles/year.

Raghupati Singhania also revealed that the Sriperumbudur factory currently employs approximately 500 employees. After the completion of the expansion project, the total number of employees in the factory will increase by 50%.

JK Tire currently operates five manufacturing plants in India and three factories in Mexico. The overall tire production capacity is approximately 20 million pieces/year.
