Li Jingbo team: Successful development of six kilowatt nanosecond pulsed lasers will be promoted to industrial applications

The new semiconductor deep-level doping mechanism was proposed by Prof. Li Jingbo, Chairman of Zhongke Chuangpu Laser Technology Co., Ltd., who invested in Xingye District of Nanchang Economic Development Zone. The "Research" project won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award. Semiconductor doping technology is one of the core technologies of semiconductor devices. Li Jingbo and team aides are conducting laser experiments. “The research on the doping mechanism of novel semiconductor materials is currently a hot issue in the fields of optoelectronics, condensed matter physics, and new energy. We have carried out related basic research and sought to find the answers to key scientific questions,†said Li Jingbo. It is understood that with the support of scientific research on semiconductor laser epitaxial growth and doping technology, Li Jingbo's team recently achieved a number of innovations in the key technologies of high-power semiconductor laser chips, including the development of a 6-kilowatt nanosecond pulsed laser. The power is up to 6000W, which is 2000W higher than the current international standards. For the first time, high-power semiconductor laser chips have been developed. The chip's single-bar power exceeds 160W, and its service life exceeds 10,000 hours. In-situ experiment laser penetrates the steel plate. Li Jingbo, a researcher at the Institute of Semiconductors at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said: “Basic research is the foundation of innovation, and it is also a support for upgrading industrial equipment. If you master the basic principles of fiber lasers, you can break through the technical bottleneck of high-power pulsed lasers.†In addition, Li Jingbo's team has successfully transformed some of the achievements of this award-winning project into industrial applications of high-power pulsed lasers. With the support of Nanchang Economic and Technological Development Zone, they established Nanchang Zhongke Chuangpu Laser Technology Co., Ltd. It is expected that in 2018, the company’s sales revenue will exceed 100 million yuan.
