The project lasted three years. In January 2014, the feasibility study was carried out by Southeast University. In March, the development and Reform Commission formally adopted the project. In May, the company began to deepen the design and started construction. At present, the first and second phases of the project have been completed. The construction scope of the project will start from Weiyi Road in the north, and will reach Software Avenue in the south, from the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in the east, and to the Yangtze River Avenue in the west. There are 698 light-controlled junctions in Gulou District, Xuanwu District, Qinhuai District, Yuhuatai District, Jianye District and Qixia District. More than 700 buses are used to achieve bus signal network. At present, the number of network-connected lighting control junctions in the above-mentioned Jiangnan six districts has reached more than 95%, and the 2000-kilometre traffic basic information data in the main urban area of ​​Nanjing City has been collected, and priority has been given to the control of public transport signals within the construction area, and the sub-control center network facilities have been improved. Construction; Realize the application of regular bus and rail transit data, as well as external information services.

South China Surveying and Mapping has provided a stable and reliable Beidou precise location service for this system. Taking the bus signal priority as an example, through the Beidou positioning terminal installed on the bus, the high-precision positioning information is provided by the background software differential processing, and the real-time position and speed of the bus is calculated and transmitted to the signal control platform, combined with the intersection. The traffic information optimizes the signal timing and allows the buses to pass preferentially on the premise of ensuring the smooth traffic at the intersections, reducing waiting time at intersections.

The road survey and evaluation results selected by Southeast University show that the signal networking and ground transportation optimization system can effectively improve the bus speed. The average travel speed of public transport vehicles has increased by more than 20%; the number of stoppages at the intersections of public transport vehicles has been reduced by more than 30%, and the speed and efficiency of public transport vehicles on main lines have been improved.

This result is not only applied to the priority control of public transport, but also widely used in special service missions, ambulances, fire engines, etc. to provide protection for large vehicles and special vehicles.
