The pollutants produced by the tanning industry, with the exception of some chemical agents and metals, contain a large amount of organic matter such as pig hair and oils, which are large in quantity and complicated in composition. The indicators such as COD, ammonia nitrogen, chromium and other content often exceed the national standard several times, several times, or even hundreds of times.

The Shuitou Tanning Base has a large amount of sludge produced by 39 tanning enterprises. The tannery effluent contains a large amount of sediment. After the treatment in the wastewater treatment plant, about 100 tons of sludge is produced every day. The water content of these sludge filters is still as high as 75%, and the ammonia nitrogen and COD content are much higher than the sewage. The original method of dry burning was used, but due to problems such as immature technology and equipment, it failed to achieve success.

After the sludge is dried, it can be made into sludge coal, or burned with direct high temperature, which can reduce the volume of sludge to the minimum, carbonize the organic matters in the sludge, kill various pathogens, and reduce the pollution to the environment. . It eventually becomes ash, which is used for the dehumidification and reuse of tail gas and the use of sludge coal technology, which reduces the energy consumption of sludge treatment and reduces the cost of sludge treatment.
