Peter Tyroller, head of Bosch's Asia Pacific region, said the group plans to double its annual sales in the Asia Pacific region to 222 billion euros by 2020. In order to achieve this goal, Bosch will focus on strengthening its business with Japanese automakers. These automakers occupy the leading position in ASEAN countries.

At the end of last year, Bosch opened a second local factory in Thailand for the production of brake parts and other products. The company’s first plant in Indonesia will also be completed by the end of this year. It will start production of engine parts and the plant will become Bosch's sixth plant in Southeast Asia.

In addition, Bosch will invest 160 million euros in India to expand its control software R&D business. The company plans to develop low-cost technology products in India.

Bosch competitor Denso is also building a third local plant in Indonesia, and the competition among parts suppliers in the Asian region will continue to heat up.
