Jiangsu uses non-grid wind power to desalinate seawater
Recently, the world's first megawatt non-grid wind power desalination demonstration project was successfully commissioned in Dafeng City, Jiangsu Province. According to reports, this non-grid-connected wind power-seawater desalination integrated system constructed by microgrid technology is a technology pioneer in the world and is of great strategic significance for solving freshwater supply in remote areas such as islands.
Yang Shiming, general manager of Jiangsu Fenghai New Energy Desalination Seawater Development Co., Ltd., introduced the core technology of independently developing and applying the world's first island operation control system with megawatt-scale wind power directly providing load, that is, without any network power support. In this case, a 2.5 MW permanent magnet direct drive wind turbine, three sets of energy storage batteries and one diesel generator form a microgrid power supply system to provide stable power to the desalination device.
