Ningxia corn machine yield is expected to reach 35% this year

The reporter learned from the Ningxia corn mechanization harvesting workshop held in Ningxia Agriculture and Animal Husbandry today that this year's Ningxia corn harvester level is expected to increase by 5 percentage points from last year, reaching 35%, and the machine harvest area may exceed 100 million mu.

It is understood that under the national agricultural machinery purchase subsidy policy, Ningxia's agricultural machinery and equipment continues to increase, the level of operations has significantly increased, and corn production mechanization has also made considerable progress. Farming, planting and field management of mechanized operations have been significantly improved. As of 2010, the comprehensive mechanization level of corn cultivation in Ningxia has reached 76.7%, of which the corn harvester level is 30%, and this year is expected to reach 35%.

Ma Ming, deputy director of the Ningxia Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, said at the meeting that in the future, Ningxia will develop corn harvesting mechanization as an important measure and main direction for the development of grain production, increase investment, strengthen demonstration guidance, and promote the full and rapid development of corn production mechanization in the region. In order to reach the end of 2012, the corn harvest rate in the whole region will reach 40%. By the end of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, the single corn harvesting rate in the Sichuan region reached more than 85%, and the intercropping corn harvester level reached more than 60%.

Today's corn harvesting on the mechanized site also displayed a variety of corn machinery and equipment to the local farmers.
