Of these, 97% of the textile industry and 82% of decabromodiphenyl ether in the plastics industry have been effectively monitored. The United Kingdom, which pioneered the program, has already benefited from the promotion of VECAP, in which the release of decabromodiphenyl ether in the textile industry has been reduced by 75% compared to 2002.
In addition, North America began implementing this program in 2006. Currently, 35% of decabromodiphenyl ether users in the United States and Canada have already implemented this program.
