Keyssa's chip technology can transmit data in seconds

A startup called Keyssa has developed a chip technology that wirelessly transmits large amounts of data, such as movies and music collections, in seconds instead of minutes or longer. The company created a chip that uses high-frequency radio waves to transfer data between two devices that are in contact with each other at very fast speeds. The plan is to put chips into gadgets such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones. The user can then contact the two devices as Keyssa says, and it will transmit the movie or music in seconds.
This should be useful for high resolution video formats, and 4K ultra high definition video will be a more common presence in the near future. Tony Fader, chief executive of Keyssa, expects that the first connector-containing product will be released in the second half of next year, but the company did not disclose how much it would cost to add the chip to the device. Ultimately Keyssa's idea is that its chips will replace various metal connectors, and the chip may become more realistic and popular.
