Seventh-day couple’s bed was struck by lightning and related to the terrain of their house

Recently, strong convective weather occurred in many places in our province (Jiangxi), causing casualties and property losses. On the 13th, two elderly people in Shicheng County suffered lightning strikes while they were sleeping and died.

Seventy-year couple were killed by lightning

The accident site was located in the Longyuzui Village group of Tongjiang Village, Xiaosong Township, Shicheng County. Liao Chengfa, a local villager, was still immersed in the pain of losing his parents.

According to Liao Chengfa’s introduction, on the morning of the 13th, he went to call the parents who had more than seventy years to open the door, but no one should. When everyone opened the door, they found that the two elderly people had no breathing. After the incident, the relevant authorities of Shicheng County conducted an investigation and confirmed that two elderly people died of lightning strikes.

Liao Chengfa said that on the 13th day, not only did the parents suffer misfortune, but even all household appliances in nearby households were damaged.

According to local villagers, the local thunder and lightning weather is relatively frequent. Every thunderstorm, the villagers are worried.

Meteorological Bureau said that it is related to the terrain

The two old people will also suffer lightning strikes while sleeping at home. What are the reasons?

On the afternoon of the 16th, Zhang Jun, deputy director of the Shicheng County Meteorological Bureau, came to the village to understand the situation. After viewing the terrain at the entrance of the village, he came to the room where the old man lived. Through careful observation, Zhang Jun concluded that the two elderly people suffered lightning. It is related to the terrain here.

According to Zhang Jun, the house where the old man lived was just in between the two mountains. One of the corners was on the top of the mountain. The room where the old man lived was on the second floor. It was a tall building here. Therefore, when the lightning appeared, it just hit the room where the old man lived.

The reporter learned of a detail. On the night of the incident, the window of the deceased’s family was opened. It was because the window had not been closed that lightning struck the two elderly people who were sleeping.

Build a house and consult meteorological department

Zhang Jun also introduced some mine prevention knowledge to the villagers.

Zhang Jun said that when the villagers worked in the fields, sometimes it was raining quickly, and the villagers rushed and ran with the hoe. This practice was wrong. When the skull is tilted, the thunder will be transmitted through the gimmick. The villagers should take the gimmick to their hands and then seek temporary shelter from a place.

In addition, if the local villagers want to build a house, they can consult the meteorological department in advance to avoid building a house in the “minefield”.
