To expand the business scope of auto parts companies to take frequent actions

In the near future, through the observation of the dynamics of auto parts companies, it is not difficult to find that auto parts companies have frequently “acquired” movements at the end of the year. The reason for this is that companies want to take advantage of ways to expand their business scope and obtain more substantial benefits in the coming year. After summing up, we have concluded that there are three main areas for expanding the business of auto parts manufacturers. The first is to expand the business scope of the new market segment; the second is to expand the business scope of the Asian market.

First, expand the business scope of new market segments.

As early as mid-March this year, Webster had announced that it had reached an agreement with Delphi Italia Automotive Systems, which will acquire the latter's Diavia cooling system business, but it still needs the approval of relevant departments.

Delphi's Diavia cooling system is mainly used for off-highway and special purpose vehicles.

Anand Group, a manufacturer of automotive systems and components in India, recently announced that it has jointly formed a joint venture with MandoSteering Systems India and acquired a share of the latter.

On October 29th this year, a joint venture company was established with South Korea's Mando Group and some of the latter’s shares were acquired. However, Anand Group did not provide detailed information on the size and specific amount of the transaction.

The target set by Mando and the Anand Group for the new company is to achieve sales of INR 1 billion (approximately US$19 million) in 2016. Both parties hope to achieve a wide range of collaboration in product development and company operations through the establishment of a new company. Effect and enter new customer segments to gain wider customer influence.

Second, expand the scope of business in the Asian market.

Recently, after receiving approval from the National Development and Reform Commission, Wanxiang Group participated in an open tender for A123 Systems, a new energy battery manufacturer, on December 6th, defeating Johnson Controls, and the new entrants NEC of Japan and Siemens of Germany, successfully bidding for A123. .

According to reports, the A123 is priced at 783 million yuan.

For this acquisition, Zhang Jinhua, deputy secretary-general of the China Association of Automotive Engineers, believes that the acquisition of A123 system company is a win-win deal for Wanxiang Group. Wanxiang Group can not only acquire more advanced battery and new energy technologies, but also enhance product competitiveness. And can also use this to increase the sales of Wanxiang Group in the US market; A123 Systems can increase its access to the Chinese automotive market through Wanxiang Group.
