In March 2011, bulldozer sales surpassed 2,000 units for the first time. From January to March, the accumulated sales were close to 5,000 units, an increase of 65.91% year-on-year, and the domestic market increased by 68.52%, which was higher than the increase of 53.99% in the export market.

Among the large- and small-scale enterprises in January-March, Shantui, Pengpu, and Liugong performed strongly, and the growth rate was higher than the overall level of the industry. Shantui’s share of 68.54% was higher than before; the cumulative sales for the first three months of the debut were still lower than the level of the same period of last year, and the share declined further.

Compared with the same period of last year, the demand for 160-179 hp increased sharply. Excluding the high-horsepower of over 320, the share of other horsepower segments shrank. The 120-140 hp segment fell the most, exceeding 3%. 160-179 horsepower is the main model of enterprises of all sizes. The highest proportion in the product line is Yishan. Nearly 90% of sales are concentrated in this horsepower range; Pengpu is the lowest, but it is 320-400. The horsepower zone has a strong competitive advantage. The major share of 320-horsepower products is concentrated in three companies: Shantui, Pengpu, and Caterpillar;

In terms of regional sales, Anhui bulldozers demanded the most from January to March, selling 365 units; followed by Jiangsu, selling 345 units; Heilongjiang ranked third, selling 279 units. Domestic market demand is concentrated in the 160-179 hp range; high horsepower products account for a large share of the export market. The three provinces of Shandong, Sichuan, and Shanxi have a greater demand for high-horsepower products, and Anhui and Hubei are more interested in low-horsepower products.

From January to March, the total export sales were 830 units, an increase of 53.99% year-on-year; the three major advantages of Shantui, Pengpu, and Xuangong were export growth, and China Zoomlion's exports shrank sharply, driving total sales to decline year-on-year. From January to March, export products were mainly concentrated in the 160-179 and 220-400 hp sections. Overall, overseas demand was further transferred to high-margin products.
